Optimize your name for SEO (search engine optimization) 

Instagram is becoming a search engine. Everyday more and more people are using Instagram to search for topics they want to know more about. 

With that, people are not going to be searching for your name on Instagram. They are going to be searching for your topic. 

So you want to make the name portion in your bio something that will rank in their search.

Strategically craft your bio statement 

The very first line in your bio should explain who you help and how you help them so that they know when they click over to your account if you are a good fit for them or not. 

I like to refer to this as a butterfly statement. 

If you look at my profile it says “ I help you (WHO?) business owners. (DO WHAT?) grow organically and make more sales on Instagram.

So immediately I am communicating who I help and how I help them. 

This is a CRUCIAL part to your profile and it’s important that you are clear and concise. 

So when YOU decide to sit down and craft a clear butterfly statement, make sure that you know exactly who you are talking to and how you can help them.

Add social proof or a case study 

Once you’ve completed your butterfly statement, if you are able to add a few additional lines of social proof, it will help to start earning trust from your followers.

…and how does the old saying go….oh that’s right. People buy from people they trust. 

This is a great way to start earning that trust.

This can be your own personal transformation, the results of your clients, or maybe a customer review.  

Feel free to be creative here because you don’t have to be solving world hunger. You just have to be able to promise results or transformation within your niche.

The other thing that you can do with this space is invite your followers to check out your stories, blog, youtube, or captions for more detailed information. 

This again is just another great way to fully serve every single person that lands on your page. 

CTA aka Call To Action 

This is just a fancy way of inviting them to take action. 

This will be in the line that says “LINK” in your profile.. You need to decide exactly what you want to ask your followers to do next. 

What is their exact next step? 

Do you want them to call you, fill out a form, apply to work with you, or do you want to offer them a FREE gift in exchange for their content information?

Whatever the second step in your funnel is after they consume your content should be clearly linked in your bio. 

This is to eliminate confusion and give them an exact next step to take to work with you or buy from you. 

There are a million different types of steps that you want your ideal followers to take. But the important part is that you are clearly giving them a next step.

Create 5 strategic highlights that are curated to nurture your super fans 

Highlights are an amazing way to nurture your new followers and encourage them to binge your account which will then drive up your engagement. 

In order to do that, create these 5 highlights:

  • YOUR STORY: But not just any story. This should be the story that relates to your niche. Also known as your conversion story. The story that started this entire journey for you. 
  • A DAY IN YOUR LIFE: 
  • Q&A: 
  • SHOWCASE YOUR PRODUCTS OR OFFERS: 
  • SHARE CLIENT WINS:
