3 Tips To Make Your Wash Day Last Longer
Use Quality Products
When it comes to stretching your washday, I’ve found that I get the best results when I am using quality products.
My hypothesis is that since quality products are typically formulated with higher quality ingredients, they are able to penetrate the hair shaft more efficiently and don’t break down as easily.
I am not a scientist. I am only sharing what has been my experience thus far.
Use One Complete Line Of Products
Here me when I say that I am all about swapping products from different product lines
It’s important to remember that it comes with a cost.
Scientists develop products in a lab and do so with the intent to complement each other. Most product lines are developed to nurture your hair throughout the entire hair care process.
This is why it’s super easy to end up with an imbalance or protein and moisture when you are pulling from different lines.
If you don’t have a firm grasp on your hairs structure and what it needs to thrive…
If you are struggling to maintain your washday, I recommend sticking with one completely line until things feel more balance.
Then (and only then) it’s time to start experimenting with multiple products from multiple lines.
Protect While You Sleep
Hair protection is essential for making your easy day last longer.
There are many things you can do to protect your hair against dehydration and breakage (which both lead to frizz).
A good starting point is to sleep on silk. It will help retain moisture and minimize friction.
Master Your Refresh
Having a solid refresh method will allow you to stretch your wash day.
Before I discovered my “5 Secret Refresh Techniques For Awesome Next Day Curls” (which I will be sharing in next week’s email) I could barely wear my hair for two days.
After implementing these awesome refresh techniques (that really work), I can stretch my washday up to 5 days!
Important note: When it comes to stretching your washday, it’s important to never sacrifice scalp health. If your scalp is dry, itchy, inflamed, or flakey, it’s important to listen to what you body is telling you, and wash your hair accordingly.
Use Quality Products – When it comes to long term sustainable hair health and lasting washdays, you get what you pay for. Invest in a product line that you love and allow your hair to thrive.
Use One Complete Line Of Products – If you struggle to stretch your wash days, try sticking to one complete line for a full month before you mix and match.
Protect While You Sleep – Sleeping on silk is a great starting point
Master Your Refresh – experiment with different refresh techniques to find one that works perfectly for your hair
