Silk Pillowcase
If you are not protecting your curls while you sleep, then this should be at the top of your list.
Sleeping on silk versus a traditional pillowcase will allow you to wear your curls multiple days and keep them healthier.

- Reduce breakage – Traditional fabrics like cotton or flannel cause friction while you sleep which can cause breakage to your hair

Puff Cuff
One of the amazing benefits of having curly hair is being able to wear it multiple days with minimal refreshing.
The best way to preserve your curls during the night (other than the silk of course) is to use a non-damaging hair tie to fasten your hair to the top of your head. This is called a pineapple.
When your pineapple your hair before your sleep, it keeps all of your curls nestled on top of your head and protects them from falling apart while you toss and turn.

Having great curls comes down to establishing healthy consistent habits.
One item you can easily swap out to reduce frizz and breakage is a high-quality microfiber towel.
Traditional towels are harsh on your hair and cause breakage and frizz.
I always recommend investing in a high-quality microfiber towel because they are made with soft fabric with a tighter weave which makes then softer.

The Dyson Blow Dryer
Dyson released a fancy blow dryer not too long ago and black Friday would be a great time to snag one.
This is a product that I haven’t used yet but I’ve seen dozens of amazing reviews and it’s at the top of my Black Friday list. We’ve used Dyson products in the past and they never disappoint on quality.
The Dyson blow has dozens of features including but not limited to magnetic attachments. It was engineered to dry your hair without damaging it or your scalp. Which is a huge win for curly girls since we are more prone to damage.

This is a good time to stock up supplements that support hair growth. There are dozens on the market and it can be a little overwhelming trying to choose.
The best supplements to support hair, skin, and nails are….

This combo is good for your health in general, but there is a good amount of research that links them back to promoting healthy hair skin, and nails.
I don’t know about you but as I age, I want all the beauty support I can get.

Reconstructive Treatment
Because curls are particularly at risk for damage and dryness, reconstructive treatments will work wonders for your damaged curls.
If you have color-treated hair like mine, then doing consistent reconstructive treatments is key to having healthy curls.
My three favorite treatments:
Rice water rinse: This product is budget-friendly and super easy to make. Rice water is packed full of protein which is a key building block to your hair strand. Doing a rice water rinse will add shine, increase your curl pattern, and strengthens your hair cuticle.

Shea Moisture Strengthen Restore Treatment Masque: This was one of the first treatments I started using and I still always have it on hand. It’s the best way to add a boost of moisture without overdoing it.
This product always leaves my curls soft and shining.
I love shea moisture because it’s packed full of beneficial ingredients like shea butter, Jamaican black castor oil, peppermint, and apple cider vinegar. The only downside of this product is because it is heavy, you should occasionally use a clarifying wash to prevent product buildup.

Ultra Reconstructive Masque: This product does wonders to help restore damaged or overly dry curly hair.
It is rich in amino and fatty acids (that help repair damage to the hair shaft), strengthens, seals split ends, prevents moisture loss while protecting from future damage.
I notice a huge difference in smoother hair reduces frizz after using this treatment. It is by far my favorite “clean” deep condition/treatment to repair my curls.
This product goes a long way. I consider it well worth the investment.

A Bougie Spray Bottle
You need a misting spray bottle.
Because typically on day two, curls don’t need a ton of moisture added. Just a few misting sprays is the best way to revive your curls without adding a ton of water.

A Cleansing Scrubber
This is one of the most underrated curly hair products on the market in my opinion.
Adding a curl cleanser brush to your wash routine helps clean your scalp, increase blood circulation, and feels amazing.
I use mine every wash day and take my time doing a scalp massage.

Silk Lined Winter Hat
I spent a good part of last winter searching for a hat that wouldn’t destroy my curls.
