When it comes to drying curly hair, it can be a little tricky. Using a blow dryer without a diffuser can wreak havoc on your curl pattern causing unwanted frizz. Not to mention the heat damaged. Today I’m sharing The Best Hair Diffuser For Frizz Free Curly Hair.
Early on in my curly journey, I decided I was going to ditch the blow dryer completely and only air dry my hair. In a perfect world that would be great. Air drying is the best way to dry curly hair because it causes zero-damage and allows your curls to dry without disrupting their natural pattern.
However, air drying can take a long time. Especially if you have thick heavy hair. For example, while I’m writing this post, my hair is still 50% wet after air drying for over an hour. That makes it so hard when you are trying to get out the door daily.
After realizing that I just didn’t have the time to invest in waiting for my hair to dry, I invested in a diffuser to speed the process.
Are you ready to transform your curls but not sure where to get started?
I created The Curly Girl Cheat Sheet just for you!! In this helpful printout, I break down the curly girl method step by step to help guide you along the way.

What Is A Hair Diffuser Attachment?
A diffuser attachment is designed to disperse the airflow of a blow dryer and spread it out evenly throughout your hair. Diffusers are mostly used with curly hair because the dispersed helps protect the natural curl pattern and minimizes unwanted frizz.

A Mesh Strainer
That’s right, you can use a mesh strainer from your kitchen to dry your curls. I did this early on in my curly journey and it worked like a charm.
If you’re not ready to purchase a diffuser, I recommend starting with a mesh strainer to distribute airflow and speed up the drying process.

Orchid Diffuser
This was the first diffuser I purchased when I started my curl journey.
It’s high quality, affordable and works well! It comes in a fancy box which is always fun to receive in the mail.
The reason I chose this one over the smaller diffusers is because of its size. I can blow dry a large amount of my hair at the same time which speeds up the process without causing unwanted frizz or breaking up my curl pattern.

Devacurl Devafuser
This diffuser is hands down my favorite. When I first started my curly girl journey, I didn’t want to invest in the Devacurl Devafuser because it’s a little more expensive than others on the market.
Looking back, I wish I would have gotten it right away. The unique design allows you to target your roots which creates lift which creates volume. And who doesn’t want big curly hair?
This was 100% worth the investment.

Collapsible
I didn’t think I needed a collapsible diffuser until I got a gym membership and tried stuffing my diffuser into my backpack every day.
I’ve heard great things about this diffuser and have it in my amazon cart as I write this. I’ll send out an update once I receive it. But the reviews look promising.

In Conclusion:
If you are a curly girl and you don’t want to wait hours for your hair to air dry, then you need a diffuser attachment in your life.
Diffusers enable you to target specific areas of your hair as well as distributed airflow evenly so it doesn’t destroy your curly pattern.
